The waterdropper is carved from a squat section of a bamboo root. The bamboo has a hollowed out opening on top flanked by a six-legged insect and a leafy fruiting melon branch and vines with a small spout hidden beneath one of the leaves. The bamboo root is deeply patinated to a chocolate brown tone.
